lynnenne: (spangel almost porn by ?)
[personal profile] lynnenne posting in [community profile] grazieprego
Thank you to everyone who has signed up for the "Grazie Prego Kiss Kiss" Spangel ficathon! We have 40 writers signed up so far. YAYEE! Sign-ups are still open, so feel free to rev up your Vespa and jump on board.

A reminder to everyone who has signed up: Please join the community so you can post your fic and keep up with periodic announcements like this one.

Several writers have requested prompts, so I'm throwing the community open to any and all ideas. They can be as cracked-out and silly as you like - you can even put the boys on a submarine in the middle of World War II. (Hmmm... maybe not. Nobody will buy that.)

Even those who are not writing a fic can post a prompt here. Any and all ideas welcome!

  • Angel and Spike get sucked back in time, or maybe into another dimension. In the process, one of them loses his soul. They have to work together to get back to the present. How does the other one deal with having a soulless fiend as a partner?

  • Angel, Spike, a desert road, a flat tire, and imminent sunrise.

  • Connor convinces Angel that he should be nicer to Spike. What's Angel's idea of "nice" where Spike is concerned?

  • AtS Season 5, Dru comes to town. How do the boys handle it?

  • Angel meets up with Spike in the 1950s, immediately after the events of "Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been?"

  • Wolfram & Hart give Angel a rocket launcher. Spike gets his hands on it. Accidents happen.

  • Take any event from the Angel: After the Fall comics and rewrite it to make it slashy(er).

  • An opening line: "Angel would never tell Spike this, but he thinks the bruises that Illyria leaves on Spike's skin are pretty." Write the rest of the story.

  • What if the boys had met up with Buffy at the end of "The Girl in Question"? What would have happened?

  • Whiskey vs. Tequila. Vintage TBD. Which vamp is still awake when the bottles are drained?

Please post your ideas in comments. You can include as much or as little detail in your prompts as you like. A reminder that all writers choose their own fics for this ficathon, so leaving a prompt is no guarantee that your request will be written. But you may inspire someone to write a great fic! Ultimately, the goal is to motivate as many people as possible to write more Spangel.

Writers: If you decide to choose a particular prompt, please leave a comment below. If more than two people choose the same prompt, I'll close it. I don't mind if more than one writer wants to tackle the same prompt, but I'd prefer not to have all of us writing the same story. :)

Ready: GO!

Is there a minimum word count?

I would take this one:

An opening line: "Angel would never tell Spike this, but he thinks the bruises that Illyria leaves on Spike's skin are pretty." Write the rest of the story.

But I think it'd be shortish.

I'd try to do something longer as well.

Woohoo! Have some quote prompts to play with:

"Aye, that's the battle for you,
and no worse today than wars you sing of,
when Fróda fell, and Finn was slain.
The world wept then, as it weeps today:
you can hear the tears through the harp's
twanging. . ."
-- JRR Tolkien, The Homecoming of Beorhtnoth (Battle of Maldon fanfic)

Why had the scientists been wrong? 'Prejudice, mostly,' Allie said, lying curled around Gibreel beneath parachute silk. 'They can't quantify the will, so they leave it out of their calculations. But it's will that gets you up Everest, will and anger, and it can bend any law of nature you care to mention, at least in the short term, gravity not excluded.'
-- Salman Rushdie, The Satanic Verses

Humans? They're long gone. Vanished. Extinct. They only exist in stories.
-- Ferngully

So few grains of happiness
measured against all the dark
and still the scales balance.
-- Jane Hirshfield, The Weighing

"Don't let them ever say - you can't come back. Don't give up, either. You can always find a way home if you keep looking. Always. There'll be people ready to come out and find you, too. And never think - that you aren't worth looking for."
-- A.J. Hall, Ships that Pass

And one song prompt: Santaclara - The National (http://www.box.net/shared/vjp7mlf98p)
(Yeah, they're gonna be cool happy genius heroes / I'm gonna miss 'em so much)

I'd like to snag this one, please:

Humans? They're long gone. Vanished. Extinct. They only exist in stories.

My first future fic, I think. Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm gonna steal this one, if nobody minds:

Thanks for the prompt!

Thanks for these - good to get the brain cells sparking!

Thanks for the prompts. Here’s something that’s been stuck in my head for awhile. Either Spike or Angel says to the other:

“Let’s pretend we’re human and that we meet for the first time.”

Okay, here we go:

1. I'd love to see either a crossover with the "True Blood" universe, or see the boys living in that world where vampires are "out" because they don't need to drink human blood (They drink a product called "TruBlood" on the show for those who aren't familiar). Angel and Spike are familiar with the concept of no human blood, but what about with the popularity of vampires and the difficulties of going public. (Gay vampires? Double whammy!)

2. A story about second chances. Here's a quote: "Live as if you were living a second time, and as though you had acted wrongly the first time." -- Victor Frankl

3. Angel and Spike are down on their luck. To make extra money they star in a few porno films. (Stamina, anyone?) Then someone offers to pay them a LOT to star together in a gay porn film. Lights, Camera, Action, etc.

Question - can the stories/prompts be Human AU?

Here is some ideas I've had kicking around my brain and would love to see written (one's pretty long winded for what it intends - smut):

1. Spike gets turned into an Imp by a wayward spell. He has sex with one of Angel's smaller orifices(ear, nostril).

2. Spike and Angel go hunting in a House of Mirrors. There is a triangle of mirrors standing in the middle of a room, facing inwards. The vamps find the demon in the triangle, take it out and then proceed to get naked. People enter the house to see three unreflected legs standing in the middle of the room and hear funny groaning noises. The people run out screaming the place is haunted.

3. For a really really old guy, Angel has a lot of hair on his head. As we all know, when some men get older, their hair on their head thins and falls out either leaving them bald or poor of hair. The hair they’d normally have on their head redirects to their face, nostril, ears and pubic hair. As a 234 year old, Angel likes to keep his hair in order. If he stopped living like a human, he turned into a forest with really long fingernails, perfect to scratch through all the lice in his hair. He only found this out in the hell dimension. One night, Spike comes to him in a fit of hornyness and Angel had shaved that day. Angel finally finds out why Spike calls him Peaches: his fuzzy bum from the shave had always felt that way, even back in his soulless days.

4. Spike and Angel join the Mile High Club as they wallow together in despair over Fred's imminent passing. They lament on Buffy and loosing Spike's prized duster until Spike admits that he'd had it replaced before.

I think I have to have a go at this one What if the boys had met up with Buffy at the end of "The Girl in Question"? What would have happened? for obvious reasons.

Oooohhhh, like I could turn something like this down: “Let’s pretend we’re human and that we meet for the first time.”

Do we have to have the whole thing finished by April, or just the first few parts, if say, our muse has decided to tell a freaking epic.

Now I plunder my favorite poet Robert Frost for some prompts.
1) my absolute favorite Frost poem ever, which is untitled.
Forgive, O Lord, my little jokes on Thee
And I'll forgive Thy great big one on me.

2) The Trial By Existence (http://quotations.about.com/cs/poemlyrics/a/The_Trial_By_Ex.htm) Here are a couple of the passages that struck me.
And the more loitering are turned/ To view once more the sacrifice/ Of those who for some good discerned/ Will gladly give up paradise.

And so the choice must be again,/ But the last choice is still the same;/ And the awe passes wonder then,/ And a hush falls for all acclaim.

'Tis of the essence of life here,/ Though we choose greatly, still to lack/ The lasting memory at all clear,/ That life has for us on the wrack/ Nothing but what we somehow chose;/ Thus are we wholly stripped of pride/ In the pain that has but one close,/ Bearing crushed and mystified.

Are we allowed to do a prompt that someone else already said they're doing?
