On the heels of some scandalous Spangel photos appearing in several publications, a freelance photographer claims that Spike bit him as he left a night club last night in West Hollywood.

"I saw him go into the club and I tried to follow him, but security wouldn't let me in. So I waited outside for a few hours until I saw him come out, then I started snapping pictures."

The photographer, who asked that his name not be published, said Spike was alone as he exited the club.

"When he saw me taking pictures, he roared like a lion. The next thing I knew, my camera was on the ground and his teeth were in my neck!"

The freelancer was rushed to hospital, where he was treated for neck wounds and minor blood loss. He was not seriously injured, but the same can't be said of his camera.

"He stepped on it and crushed it like a cardboard box. I lost all my photos."

The photographer is considering legal action, including damages for destroyed property and loss of income. But he may not get very far: it's unclear whether vampires (even ones with souls) are considered legally liable for their actions under California law.
